I offer many types of massage therapy and always focus on providing accurate, sustainable results. Therefore, unlike most therapists, we can provide you with therapeutic massage. Therapeutic massage is one of the most effective and straightforward tools for reaching rapid and sustained results from various disorders, including sciatic nerve neuralgia, hypertension, impingement syndromes, and lower back disorders. Medical massage is a comprehensive method of soft tissue mobilization consisting of connective tissue massage (fascia mobilization), muscular mobilization, trigger point therapy (if trigger points exist), skin mobilization, and other components.

Types of Massages
Deep Tissue Massage, Acupressure, Sports Massage, Teen Athlete Massage, Reflexology, Trager, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Neuromuscular Therapy, Oncology Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Thai Massage, Warm Stone Massage, Hand & Foot Massage
Swedish (standard) massage is primarily intended to relax a stressed mind and body. It focuses on superficial muscles and nerves; a full-body massage can relieve general tension (physical and mental) but can be customized for more specific purposes. It is an excellent means to obtain a calm, peaceful state while achieving inner balance. It is recommended for all types of distress (including pregnancy).
Deep tissue massage is aimed at various layers of the fascia (connective tissue) that support muscles in loosening adhesions (restrictive bands) between layers of tissues. This technique is typically more forcefully applied than the Swedish style in order to break up taunt fibrous bands and separate deeper soft tissue structures. Trigger Point Therapy (T.P.T.) (application of sustained pressure by use of thumbs or fingers on common stress areas) is frequently administered to deactivate these muscle “knots.” Recommended for chronic or acute discomfort.
Hot Stone massage combines the relaxation quality of a Swedish-style massage with the therapeutic benefits of a deep tissue massage and then takes the treatment to another level through the comforting sensation of heated basalt rocks. Smooth stones glide over tense muscles while the warmth penetrates to soothe and soften rigid underlying tissue, creating an almost literal melting effect of stubborn “knots.” (Polished stones make perfect T.P.T. tools.) NOT for those with diabetes, heart conditions, or are pregnant.
Prenatal massage is for pregnant women who may be experiencing mild to moderate discomfort but otherwise have no severe complications during the pregnancy. The expectant mother can comfortably lie face down on specially designed cushions to allow extra belly room on the table. Additionally, another support cushion is placed on the table so the client can lie in an upright, reclined position face-up to eliminate pressure in the abdominal area.
Myofascial Release Therapy is a gentle form of deep tissue that enables the therapist to engage the myofascial (muscle-connective tissues) network on a subtle energy level. This non-aggressive approach of stretching and sustained pressure application allows the body’s soft-tissue systems to relax while releasing restrictions that limit mobility, eventually leading to pain and dysfunction. Successive treatments reintegrate the body’s structural framework.
Athletic/Sports massage is especially valuable for anybody committed to a healthy lifestyle. Incorporating regular massage into an exercise program significantly improves recovery time, endurance, and flexibility, reducing susceptibility to injury and muscle stiffness and soreness. By aiding in eliminating excessive metabolic waste (as the result of a vigorous workout schedule), massage helps prevent toxic buildup, enabling the soft tissue to respond better to the increasing demands placed upon the body. Reaching goals will become more enjoyable (or at least less painful)! Recommended for sports/health enthusiasts and manual laborers.
Pre/post event; restorative training; injury rehabilitation.
